I work well in situations that require emotional awareness and regulation, both for myself and for others. I hosted the National Pan-Hellenic Council’s Annual Summit, where a guest speaker discussed navigating collegiate spaces as members of Black Greek-letter fraternities and sororities. Alongside the speaker, I helped facilitate conversations surrounding sensitive and sometimes uncomfortable topics. In these discussions, I prioritized empathy, active listening, and meeting people where they were, helping to create a supportive and respectful environment for open dialogue.
Throughout my time at UNC, I have balanced a full course load while holding several leadership positions in my on-campus organizations, including NPHC Secretary of Internal Affairs, Committee Chairman of Enhance Our Environment, Committee Chairman of Empower Our Families, and Step Mistress. Managing these responsibilities required me to develop strong time management and organizational skills. I rely heavily on my Google Calendar to keep track of meetings, deadlines, and commitments, which helps me prioritize effectively and ensure that each responsibility receives the attention it deserves.
I’ve grown into a highly adaptable person because I view change not as a disruption, but as an opportunity to learn and grow. Before attending UNC, I had no experience using Adobe software, even though it was required for several of my classes. However, my eagerness to expand my skill set motivated me to quickly learn new programs and techniques. Since then, I’ve gained experience working with Adobe Audition and Adobe Premiere Pro, which strengthened both my technical abilities and confidence in learning unfamiliar tools.
